Innovation during times of struggle
As we enter our 4th week of this unfortunate situation here in Canada, I am reminded that many of the most important innovations and changes have come during times of great stress and need. One of the opportunities that are presented at this time is for us all to look inward and evaluate existing beliefs, policies, and procedures that are in place for both individuals and businesses. By looking inward and having a good understanding of what is or is not working will allow us to make changes that can pivot the direction of our lives and businesses.
This is an opportunity for us to solve some large issues and put new policies in place that reflect what we want our future to look like. Now is the time to implement safety programs, digital transformation projects, and innovative solutions because the steps we take today will have an effect on our personal and professional brands. How we treat people, how we handle incidents, and how we react during this time has a large impact on everyone around us.
If there is something to be learned from this global event, it is adaptability and how preparedness is key to survival. This ever changing landscape will continue to present us with challenges and opportunities but it is up to all of us to take hold of our future and correct mistakes that have been overlooked for years. I am confident that we will all get through this together and that the actions taken today will benefit and alter the direction we have all been heading towards. We are all in this together, be the change you want to see in the world.
